What's the deal with ABS and these exhausts?

So help me out here guys. I'm going to drop some coin on a R3 Roadster when I get back and I'm trying to decide between the Non-ABS/ABS variants (which I read to be the 2009/2010 models respectively). The reason for this dilemma is because I want to fit one of the zard systems to the bike and I understand from zard that they will not fit the ABS models. Triumph states in their literature that the 2010 model has ABS, so why does zard's website say that their exhaust will fit the 2010 model? Did triumph switch to ABS half way through the 2010 production year or something? Scanning the threads here it looks like the only aftermarket system available for the 2011 model is the Jardine unless I'm mistaken? **** shame if that's the case 'cos I love those zard systems!

From my limited knowledge, ABS only on the Roadster which came out in 2010. Standard Rocket no ABS all years,

Regards....Allan:)

That's what I thought, but that being the case how come Zard are advertising an exhaust for a 2010 roadster but saying it won't fit models with ABS? Check it out.........

Yeah looks confusing, but I'm guessing the conical (side system) will fit the Roadster and the crossover underslung model will not?

Good luck.. anyhoo, Mr Zard will have to change the crossover pipes to fit the Roadster soon 'cos I understand the standard model Rocket is discontinued...:(

To each his own, but I think those ankle burners are U G L Y ! ;)

Wouldn't be so bad but they can't seem to get the connection between the header and the Zard parts to match up right. Looks like a hodge-podge of miss matched parts.

From what I've heard on the forums the Zard causes the Rocket to lose power.

You mean it takes a bit longer to make the jump to light speed LOL! Frankly, I'm really just after a better sounding set of pipes and having checked out the youtube offerings I quite liked the sound of the Zards. I guess you're right Binnsy it must be the conical instead of the crossovers then. What's the deal with removing the baffles from the stock pipes? Easy to do and immediate aural gratification?

Haha, that's a thoroughly thrashed over topic ... I would suggest you not even consider that avenue, it's a dead end.
