I had posted a request on this site to replace a lost right side stock pannier. Somebody responded he saw a guy selling pannier's and pointed me to his email. I pursued the lead and went back and forth for a couple weeks in buying a set.
Wouldn't part with just the right side. Looked for "tells", pictures, etc...etc...etc. to determine if he was legit or not. To make a long story short, it turned out this guy was a low life crook. He told me to make payment using Zelle, which my Chase bank had. Made payment and never received the panniers with 0 communication. I'm not gullible and have never fallen prey to a scammer. I did the best due diligence I could to vet the guy. When I realized this guy was a crook, I went to the bank to see if I had any recourse in getting my $350 back. The bank told me to contact Zelle, and good luck. They admitted I had little chance of getting my money back. Thanks Chase. I did call Zelle and talked to two Malaysian ladies I could hardly understand who told me to contact the bank. I asked the two Zelle ladies to, at least, flag two email addresses for fraud,. They didn't understand or care and refused. Caught in circular finger pointing with no recourse. Don't EVER use Zelle without having a personal relationship with the receiver. Understand why crooks recommend
Zelle for payment. They are a willing platform for crooks.
Beware of these two email addresses:
