well guys this is sad news got a letter in the mail yesterday one of the oldest truimph dealers in the us has closed and they where one of the greatest from sales to service they would make sure you where happy from mike in sale to lew a great wrench and guy & nat in parts we will miss you thanks for all the great years

that's a shame.
Hate to loose a GOOD dealer.
They're to far between good ones.
The one here in Tulsa, are mostly victory mechanics, and sales guys.
Every time I go in I ease up to who ever is looking to purchase a victory
and steer them to the back, where the Triumphs are located...
The salesmen just move out of the way cause they know I'm a Triumph guy
and my Rocket will smoke any victory they got.
Mainly cause I smoke my back tire or wheelie out of their parking lot EVERY time I leave..
The mechanics aren't the best on Triumphs, but they've been to school, so they're "adequate".
Good folks, just more into victorys than Triumphs.
Maybe there's a bigger profit margin.
Sure hate to see a Good dealer go the way of the dinosaur tho....

There seems to be a trend in the UK at the moment where Triumph are taking away
the franchise from old and established Triumph dealers who won't or can't upgrade
their premise's
It looks like they want to go the Harley route..solus dealers with big emporiums
And it's quite sad that some of these dealers have been Triumph for many years
through the good times and the bad..i kinda understand why their doing it but i don't
like it. Especially when their giving the francise to car dealers who know almost nothing about bikes and just see the bike as another commodity
When i go into a bike shop i want the guy i'm talking to, to be a bike rider.
Not neccesarily a full time biker but a guy that rides a bike. and knows what a personal
thing it is to ride and own a bike.
One good thing to come out of this is that it made me look around for an independent
workshop and i found a guy who worked for a long established dealer before Triumph
took the francise away. I am very pleased to say he did an excellent service for me
and at a reasonable price..god bless him

I can see your point Ray.
They (Triumph) has to make money, so they follow the money trail,
what works for one brand might not necessarily be what's best for another brand.
Say for instance harley is good at selling T-shirts, and parts.
Triumph could follow "that" model and make a huge profit.
but putting dealers out because they're old, established dealers,
and going with new guys who don't have a clue about the heritage, or the lean times,
or because they won't or can't upgrade to a new flashier bldg. is just wrong...

it was sharer cycle center in varona wi and i agree with ray we just had a local car dealer open up a triumph dealer just south of milwaukee now i had a couple of other triumph dealers close to my house but heard about this bike shop (sharer) by word of mouth so i would drive over an hour just to have them work on my bike !! just like ray said it when i go in to a bike shop i want to know that the sale guy now this is my way of life not just a toy to ride once and awile !!

Sharer was a great dealership. Very friendly and smart. I purchased my rocket @ team in janesville, and my speed four and speedmaster @ southeast sales in Milwaukee. Since southeast is no longer a Triumph dealer. A local Milwaukee Subaru dealer got the franchise. Its not really a bike shop. Poor service and loss of the Triumph stigma. My brother just purchased a new tiger 1050 from them. His 500 mile checkup cost him $400 and was in and out in 25 minutes? How did they check the valve tolerances in under a half hour with all the other things they are supposed to do according to the factory service manual? I just hope Triumph doesn't look @ only the dollar, but What makes their bikes special. If I wanted a big box bike I'd buy a different brand.

My point exactly..these guy's have no idea and i think it's going to damage Triumph
