Update On the Output Shaft Bearings >> Dampening assy.

Mate You better get on to Triumph Australia, I think the guys name is Chris. There is no way you should have to pay for that!!! It is a known issue with the Rocket, There is an alignment or tolerance fault in the manufacturing of the engine, I would get a expert to check these faults and then stick it to Triumph.

Where are you at the moment?
 
Really sorry to hear about your ride. I was beaten to the punch about the engine at Pinwall. I have had dealings with them and came away happy.

I am in OZ and the bike was an 07 model, which would be known to some here as Lofty Bobs old bike the Black Rhino.
The price of the cases alone was quoted at $6.300 AUD, and the Adelaide dealer was letting me have them at his price (yea right).
The complete strip and rebuild is way beyond my skill set, so a motor was the direction I was thinking of going.
The Touring motor at Pinwall is interesting but will the R3T motor bolt straight into the standard frame and would my ancillaries, exhaust,throttle bodies etc fit onto it without mods?
Still not sure which way to go, been riding for years and this was the only bike to stop me lusting after other bikes.
 

Got back home to Perth yesterday, bike will be frieghted next week I hope.
Head mechanic at dealer and all the staff were real good and helpfull, the mechanic spoke to a guy at Triumph OZ (Chris or Cliff) to see what response they would have.
The reply was it's out of warranty, I am not the original owner and the bike was modified. In short I took that as meaning they were not interested.
 
If it's a design fault then they should pay, they know there is a problem and you should not take no for an answer. They will try to palm you of if they can, talk to Chris yourself and lay down the law. There are plenty of people on this and the other forums who have had this fault, get all the info you can and a list of others with the same fault. They have covered this before at no expense to the owner, even out of warranty.
 

the engines are the same the only difference is the ecu and wiring to sub systems. She will bolt right in.
