Yes, I mean water pump.... Fuel pump was my truck a few weeks ago.. I thought the Themostat was on the right side of the engine... Hard to tell from the service manual breakout drawing... Maybe a bad hose or fitting there on the right side...

Happened on my '85 Gold Wing, the only parts failure I ever had. Hoses and water pumps can go on anything that is water cooled. Just one of those darn things that happens.

How about making a sticky listing the area that each Captain would sponsor and then it is up to the Captians visiting or living in those areas to PM the sponsoring Captain to let them know they would like their private phone number in the case of an R3 breakdown. Pretty much as a precaution or as a preparation plan for your trip or just to have handy in an emergency. That way they would at least have to be a member to get your private number. Or can the info be listed in a thread that can only be accessed by members? Just an idea may be a stupid one I'm not too versed on forum administartion and don't know all the tricks.

That's my suggestion as well...I did just that when I made my run to the Keys this spring...I let the forum know I was coming through and the route I was taking...those that wanted to or were able PM'd me giving me contact #'s. That way cell numbers aren't quite so public. Plus I know who was serious and capable, as some might be out of town and such.

I had the same probleme but without a turbo
And i alone found out my coland temperature sensor was off by 10 fahranieth
They have switch the sensor and the thermostat and it the same as before and they say it normal !!!

In the morning with his computer conected to the bike ask him to check it out see if it's off .
It should reed the same as room temp.
If it's off you dont have any probleme

IT could just be a bad radiator cap that can't keep the presure
Any engine that run without radiator cap overheat !!!

So Michel, it seems you have your overheating problem resolved. I recall it was running hot when you picked it up from the dealer in North Carolina. That's good news. Mike

Forgot to post that my bike finally got fixed last week... Turns out the small hose section coming out of the water pump had a slit in it... Don't know why it happened... First time my dealer has seen any of these R3 coolant hoses go south... Perhaps something came up and hit it from the road... Anyway, I am back on the street...
