Should I be worried?

While cleaning the bike I found some oil residue here. Can anybody tell me if this is something to worry about or just normal? Bike has done around 10.000 miles

I drove by the dealer today. The mechanic confirmed that in some Rockets they had had, some bolts or rubbers were indeed not fitted properly which would cause small leakages over time. I planned a repair date within a month and they will try to identify the culprit and repair what's necessary, hopefully under guarantee.

I have a warranty. The thing is that the dealership decided they don't even need to un-bolt and change the gasket. They decided to just re-torque bolts without changing the gasket. Right now, my warranty will be gone soon (December). I guess I told them that if it leaks again, hopefully they can re-torque it with a new gasket, maybe for free, because they decided to go the cheap way the first time. So it is a little worrying, frankly.

The issue was, that they told me, some bolts on this top cover could be undone by hand. In a way, some bolts didn't press the cover at all, there was no torque downwards pressure at all. So, when the engine revved high, it is likely was spilling oil through those badly clamped areas.

I recognized my leak because I seen someone post the same thing, telling it was the top cover issue. Maybe our bikes were all done by the same poorly trained assembly person.

While that may work its a pretty lazy and incorrect way to do it IMO. For one there is oil left under the gasket now and I can almost guarantee it has a tightening sequence which clearly wasn't followed at the factory. Last, they were not able to inspect the gasket for any damage that may have happened to the gasket. More than likely it will hold up but you never know. I would be very irritated with that "fix"

It happens. I recall we had a feedwater regulating valve at the power plant that was misbehaving so we shut down the plant and then investigated the problem. Maintenance personnel found the bonnet bolts that hold the 1200 psi feedwater in the valve body were all just finger tight. The bonnet assembly and actuator could have become a missile.
