Thanks for the info about Easy Brackets & Ghost Brackets. I am familiar with each but have not used either. Based on the differing attitudes I'll give Easy Brackets a shot if that looks like the way to go when I decide on different bags.

My question about your Zumo mounting was not very clear. I was wondering WHICH Ram Mount parts you used. I have the "handlebar base mount" (RAM-B-231Z) and will get a arm to use with the Zumo motorcycle mount cradle, but which arm? They show three lengths, 1.75", 3" and 5.25". Do you know which one you ended up using? Thanks. Your answer will help reduce my experimentation time.
 
Great looking bike Dog! As flipper said, great retro fit! It appears to be just about time to go over to the dark side Riding on that much flat space, the transition should be easy

Hi Dave,
This is not a very good picture but I think it is the same Ram mount that you mentiond. If I put the Zumo behind the speedo I use the longer 5.35 long arm. I used to have it mounted nearer the left handgrip and then I used the shortest arm. I like it behind the speedo better. I also use the same style Ram handlebar to mount a Chatterbox to the left of the Zumo (they are connected by one small cable for audio) so that I can hear the Zumo commands (and music) in my helmet. Let me know if I can answer anything else for you.

Next week I am removing the rear wheel so that I can replace the tire and rear brake pads. For anyone who has done it already is there anything out of the ordinary I should watch out for when removing the rear wheel?

How many miles have you gotten on the rear skin??

The center pack/back rest is also something you'll be tiring of soon I'm in the market for one of them as well. I saw an expandable case on the crouch rocket about 6 months ago. The size was just enough to carry an extra full helmet when expanded. I like them!

Thanks, I really like how the saddlebags and top bag turned out. A friend and I rode up to the Triumph dealer in Chattanooga yesterday and I got a lot of compliments on the luggage setup from the people at the dealership and from people we met along the way. I like the Beetle Bags stuff too but I could not see spending that kind of money on them.

Despite the convenience of saddlebags I had resisted putting a set on my R3. I had the saddlebags sitting in my garage for over a year and finally got around to installing them a couple of weekends ago after I bought that Givi top bag.

I actually purchased three of the Givi Speedpacks. One for the Rocket, one for the Street Triple I have ordered and one just because it is not longer manufactured and I found a new one that was available. I am still waiting for the third Speedpack to be delivered. When it gets here a friend of mine will see how it looks on his Honda, it is his if he wants it. If not I guess I will keep it as a spare or resell it.

I have a new front tire and rear tire ordered. Hopefully they will get here this week and I can have it mounted and balanced next weekend. The rear tire on the bike now lasted 8900 miles although I probably let it go a few hundred miles longer than I should have.

I also bought a set of Pazzo clutch and brake levers that I want to install next weekend. They are shorter than the stock levers. After I get them installed I'll post a review and pictures of them.
