On those color matched shrouds, doesn't it seem they used to give you the painted and charge for the chrome? Regardless, I seem to always want the other.

hey BigBill ............ many thanks, and you're right about paint v chrome. I guess Triumph just responds to the marketplace and installs standard the opposite of whatever they think will sell as an accessory. They got me!! Personally I like the blacked out 'look' and I have just replaced my stock shocks with Black IKONs to improve the ride and to please my eye.

I have been MIA for a year or 3, my apologies, but I return yet once again. My third RIII is an X which will be launched sometime next week. By happen chance I dropped by a western Sydney Triumph dealer just to have a look ........ as one does. To my surprise an optimistic looking X was beckoning attention. I said (to the sales person) I thought that the Australian allocation were all sold. He said 'they were, this one was, but now it is not'. Sometime later, a fair trade-in offer on my GTR 1400, including TORs and heated grips on the X, sealed the deal ...... there is just 'something' about a Rocket.

Welcome from Brisbane. When Fred dynoed my bike he disabled the secondary's with a couple of key strokes and set the limiter at 250kph.
