If by killing the thread you meant his post may have reduced the subtle and not so subtle derogatory comments about and toward our female members, that may be a good thing.

Lets remember that just because some of them are good sports and tolerate sophomoric behavior, others might not be so inclined. Before you post something in that vein, think of it directed toward your wife or daughter.
