Just installed a 25 inch clearview windshield with recurve but no air vent and it significantly reduced turbulent flow compared to the Roadster screen but it wasn't as good as I had expected. I have the lowers too. Looking at the radiator shroud I wondered if all that junk might be creating turbulence so I removed it and bingo, what a difference. I could smoke a cigar while riding behind the windshield now, and I can actually hear the stock pipes above the wind flow at 80 mph and they really don't sound all that bad.

I like the look better too without all that junk which I think calls too much attention to the radiator, the shroud is major overkill. And I like the look better from the riders seat. Don't like the exposed boltholes though, oh well.

Couldn't you just reinstall the bolts in those bolt holes? That would keep you from losing track of them and you still would be riding without the shroud. I basically did my "new" horn the same way...just left the cover off and now I have a loud horn for like $13.00.

You can hear your stock pipes now I am impressed, replacing the exhaust was about the first mod that I did went with the MadDogs

I like the sound of aftermarket pipes but not for the long haul rides. I also get tired of the wind noise which is another reason I went for the huge clearview. It worked, much quieter now.

That is a good idea about the bolt holes Molinoman.

So what does it look like? I'd like to see what you did.

I will post pics tomorrow.

I went the opposite way and stripped my clearshield, got rid of the bags too - any hoos after a nice bloody fast 1000 mile salvo fom TN to FL, behind the windscreen, it was quite a shock to go naked !!! :D:D

Next up will be a quick fit summer screen for maybe further jaunts - or maybe a flyscreen - or fuggid, the Hells Angels always do 90-100mph convoy runs nekkid, just need to grow bigger balls...:D:D:confused::):D:eek:

Looking fwd to seeing the rad piccies :O)

I regret to say that I cannot find my camera, and I am not about to buy another one just to post pics here. The radiator without shrouds is a skinny black rectangle loaded with bolt holes and a few attach tabs. If you want a pretty bike keep the shrouds, if you don't mind the rough look, strip it. I like it naked, but then I just like naked in general. Naked naked naked.
