That guy was a legend . Watched him many times in the 80s . To be honest I thought he had died ages ago ?

I met him in the 90's in Queensland, one of my crew at the time raced and I would be pit crew for him. Ivan brought out 6 racers from Europe and done the rounds of all the tracks. My father new him well back in the 60's, he was good mates with Ginger Molloy as well [ who still races historic bike and still wins ].
RIP Ivan you are a legend mate.

As a Kid growing up in the UK my Dad & Uncles used to go to as many of the Big motorcycle events as possible, I have great memories of Ivan Mauger and Ole Olsen both speedway greats.
What a magnificent collection of trophies, RIP

I work regularly with his son Kym.
The nicest of guys and tells great stories of the adventures his dad had.
When did he die?
Kym had just been over to the UK to help sort out some of his possessions.
From what I can gather he is something of a national treasure.
Kym himself is quite the of a speedway king as well.

I used to work for a company next to the Poole Pirates speedway track. We'd go to the car-park top floor and watch for free if anybody like Ivan was expected. I mean we really couldn't see that well - but it was free!.
