Hi all.
I am installing a GPS on my R3. Is there an easy way to identify where I can connect the wires to bring power to the GPS.
There is a jumble of wires under the gas tank. Which one do I choose to splice into or is their a power block or ?
Thanks for you help.
By the way, the Garmin Zumo indicates my speed is 5 miles per hour slower then the speedo ??? (at 60 miles per hour)

It is a know given that speedos are 7-10% slow. Was embarrassing first time I thought I was bombing along at 75 only to be passed by a bunch of Hardley Worthitsons. GPS is dead on. Oddly the odometer on the R is exact when compared with my Garmin Quest.

GPS Hook Up

I have mine directly wired to the battery. I have it this way so I can do any programing or viewing without the key switch on. This setup is handy while pulled over along side the road while trying to figure just where in the %$@# you are. Also, during a bike night gathering I like to leave my GPS on while parked at night just to show off my Rocket. :D

Seems to me that unless you have a lot already on the battery a direct battery connection is best unless you want it off when ignition off. For my motolights I spliced into my taillight connection. I believe my dealer wired my electrical seat connection to the main power, but placed a relay on the same wire. Russel suggested direct wiring to the battery but I knew this would lead to a drained battery with my memory.

The 5mph is a sufficient correction by seat of the pants above 45 mph. You cannot hold that speedometer any closer for a reading anyway.
