I took mine out because I changed pipes
and plugged the hole..
Why ???
What's it actually good for?
To tell you if your exhaust is "rich" or "lean"?
That's what decel popping and checking your plugs is for...

why do you need one?
Sadly because these guys check.

They have a special R3 chaser too. Dammit.

Ok, just to clear it up the O2 sensor is removed to stop the ECU from correcting the low rev air/fuel ratio. The standard is for it to lean out the mixture for emission reasons, this causes decel pop with after market pipes and causes the engine run hotter. It is what the 12 minute tune uses to tune the bike and over rides the tune's installed by TuneBoy or Tune ECU.

Wayne,

I have the O2 sensor disabled in my current set up but it is still installed. Is it ok to leave the sensor installed but disabled? I have the parts necessary to remove it (bung bolt and DynoJet sensor-fake-out thingy) if you recommend removal so that is an option.
