Then i thought ide check the oil and she wont start!...does the dash light up but no start...the wee engine management light comes on , on the dash when i hit the starter...WTF?...i'm thinking some water has got somewhere...checked the battery terminals ...all g. Put the trickle charge on it and it was down to 2 lights but building slowly...ideas?

Hey guy
It seems to me that there's been a few that has mucked up the Micky mouse clutch switch while cleaning.
It maybe possible to bend it back into the correct position.

ive just been out to the bike after posting my 'WTF' and was thinking along the clutch switch and had a look under there and the switch is hanging there by the wires...if i open the contact with my finger i can then start the bike. Just got to figure what if anything is missing under there...cant see anything on the ground?..i'll persevere...something will stand out im sure...

..... after putting the bike up on the lift i could see under it alot better and found that there are two plastic pins on the switch that push into the housing, I did that and its all good again albeit a bit loose. Gonna put a touch of glue on it..whew!..must have hit it with the small brush i was using to wash around those fiddly bits....you can all relax now thanx. lol.

Not entirely on your subject, but when parked outside (rarely) and it rains a lot, whenever I go for a put afterwards, my horn honks every time I pull in the clutch!?!?!? o_O
When last down in TX it got many laughs and @Son_Of_Dog said it was kewl 'cause he could hear every time I shifted gears.
Never in all the years I been riding motor have I experienced this. Gotta love those limeys!

You should bottle that rain water and sell it...."Guaranteed to make your horn work!"..lol..(Could be a kiwi thing...like taking viagra!)

I would guess that the clutch switch is somehow furnishing the ground to the horn .
Does the horn button work?

...it was the clutch switch...i must have hit it with the wee brush i was using to clean around the levers etc and knocked it off its mount!....There are two wee pins on the back of it which push into corresponding holes and she's all g again. Just a trick for young players!

After washing the bike did you blow the bike with compressed air?

Do you have a multimeter? check the voltage leak/short by measuring the fuse and you can narrow down the problem.

plus if engine light is on then you need to read the code as well but I would check the short first and remove the fuse to that shorted voltage rail.

No i didnt...i used the leaf blower and chamois cloth....i found the problem now.
