Riding home from work I was low on gas and usually when it gives you the warning you press the toggle to clear it. This time I was too busy with traffic to worry about it and noticed eventually it pops up the estimated fuel range and gives you real time fuel economy. Just thought that was interesting

The panel is full of neat tricks. I do think it's a waste of screen real estate to have both a lit indicator up top and a clone of it in the LCD though. I also dislike how if you turn on the display and don't start the bike it will stay that way until it flattens the battery. I'd rather under "normal" use it shuts the bike down after say 5 minutes, and if you need it on full time to work on it, flash the ECU etc you can select a maintenance mode...

You would think by now they would have it on a timer. I mean almost all new vehicles shut the lights off inside and out for you if you leave them on. It can't be that hard to program. Makes ya wonder how they overlook something that simple.

Yeah, it controls the thousands of other stuff. Don’t you think it would be smart enough to shut the lights and everything off after five minutes? I drained my battery one day and needed to jump it. Top the button off and the motor shuts off but I didn’t push it hard or far enough to turn everything off? Please. But you’re smart enough to screw with me when I’m trying to change my tuning. I’d love to go to lunch with those engineers.

Had the same happen. I typically push up to turn off the engine, then put the bike on the stand, turn the handlebars and hit the lock button to both shut it down and engage the steering lock. Became muscle memory until the one time I didn't push it hard enough or notice the display didn't say goodbye to me and turn off. Faffing around in a carpark asking random strangers for a jumpstart is never fun. As I do commute to work on it routinely, I added a tiny jump starter from Motobatt to my backpack. Same size as an iPhone Pro Max but twice as thick: Motobatt MBJ-7500B - oh, and ignore on the spec sheet where it says it has a compressor in it, it does not.

Would that fit into the compartment under the seat. Its crazy how far along battery tech has came when it comes to stuff like that jumper.
