Great to find this forum. Had my black flame rocket for a year now, covered 18000 miles in the first year! Such a great bike, just makes me smile everyday.

I just got back from a business trip to Toulouse (France). Usually fly but decided to take the bike. A long ride from Cheltenham (UK) via Calais to Toulouse, about 1100 miles. After a few days at Airbus (am an specialist engineer there), I headed for Montpellier on the south coast. From there to the Millau Viaduct, which is stunning and the highest bridge in the world, then onto Clermont-Ferrand in the mountains, past Paris, Calais and in the UK to Cheltenham. Must say great trip, nearly 2500 miles, maximum of 900 in one day. Bet you would struggle to do that on something other than a Rocket. Cruising at 100mph on the motorways was fantastic.

Great Trip

Did you take the Chunnel, hydrofoil or hovercraft to get to the continent? Are you using the stock seat or did you get an after market for the long ride?

Glad you've joined in.

Have the stock seat, did consider a gel seat but all long trips in UK was fine and comfortable.

Nightmare with crossing. Arrived with channel tunnel (rail) ticket, waiting two hours delay, then they annouced service suspended due to power failure. So went to Dover and got on the ferry. Return was easy, went via the tunnel which is great for a bike. Very smooth and secure. With the ferry the bike is strapped but there is a high risk it may moce or fall over, not good at all. If it does you get no compensation.
