Hi all,

I just traded in my 08 m109r for a 2011 roadster. Wow, what a bike. I only have ~78 miles on her but ****, i wish i would have gotten this bike instead of the 9. I can't wait to mod this bike.

I've been all over this forum researching before i bought this bike and I'm having a hard time locating info on lowering and exact parts for a license plate mod. I've read the license plate mod posts but what i'm really looking for is an exact part number to push the license plate to the side in a vertical fashion.

Basically I need a little help tracking down:
  1. Relocate license bracket to left side vertical mount type
  2. Rear suspension bolt on solution that lowers the rear maybe 1-1.5 inches
  3. All ideas for getting 150+ to the rear wheel.
  4. Any thoughts on the TTS supercharger? Is it too much? Meaning is it still managable? And does it shred the engine?
  5. Max Tire sizes? I put a 260 on the 9, i assume a 260 can fit, it looks like theres plenty of room for the rear. Anybody put a 160 on the front?
  6. Oh, and for those looking for prices, I got this new 2011 roadster for 13,200 US. after the trade, out the door just under 5k. awesome!

I've already looked at: Kuryakyn Lighted Curved Vertical Side Mount License Plate Holder RTI01, I can't figure out if this will mount with the left exhaust.

I had this on my 9: Other Components, but even with a mod to push it up a little, i don't think it'll clear the exhaust.

I'm also aware of the exhaust mods, k&n mods. how much can i get out of this beast with just more airflow and a remap? is a new exhaust needed to get past 150hp (supercharging withstanding)?

Thanks all and again, Wow what a great bike!

Welcome aboard. You're not the first Captain to come from the 9.

If memory serves, the stock Roadster is already over your 150+ hp mark at 160. Of course, that's at the crank.

You can lower the rear by 1 in with some Ikon shocks. I actually have a pair of chrome shortys that have about 5k miles on them. Let me know if you are interested and we can work out a deal.

We have a number of darksiders (car tire) that have attempted to mount 250s and it is a very, very tight fit. If you want the fat look, you can mount a 240/50 ct to get the affect. I have a 225/55 on mine and it certainly gives the big tire look.

Can't answer your question about the front.

As far as opening her up to breathe, the biggest and most costly restriction are the pipes. You really have to do something about them first. Any intake mods will get wasted unless you do.

Once you take care of the pipes, the triple K&N intake mod is cheap (~$100 or less).

I could suggest an alternative to the side mount plate since you will run into legal troubles depending on the states you ride through. I have mine relocated up above the taillight on the rear fender. Easy install and fairly cheap (~$60 including new turn indicators).

Welcome from Chicago. There are lots of guys on the forum that will help you out with information you need.

Thanks Bagman!

I already reviewed:

Look at:

and

http://www.r3owners.net/rocket-iii-r...-lowering.html

before i bought the bike maybe I missed something, i'll look again. I'm really looking for part numbers. it seems like people have done these mods but they tend to not post the parts (or i missed something).

Anyhow thanks!
NP man.

The lowering one has the links to the exact parts used. Other post have the progressive shock part numbers if you don't like the ikon ones.

If your lowering it because your vertically challenged like me, the corbin seat will help you the most. (call so you can get the special cut)

Here is the link for the exhuast: (free shipping & a discount code at the top of the site)
Jardine Slashcut Exhaust System - Triumph Rocket III 2010-Up - 14-7904-01S
Be prepared to wait on it. Ordered mine. Jardine had to build it, chrome it, polish it, and they are not quick. Ordered 1 March and received it 26 April. The place I ordered from was great. I've used them many times. just had a problem getting them from jardine. Oh, fyi. these pipes come with an insert to plug the O2 sensor hole, so you don't need an oil drain bold to plug it.

All the part numbers for the 3k&n setup are posted all over the place.

Been working on mine ever since I've gotten it.
