I like your rear fender rack.
And your single 3 into 1 exhaust.
I may fab up something similar trying to keep it as low as possible to the rear fender.
The flat surface would even work well with a small suitcase.

I've been riding for 50 years and I can say beyond any doubt that the Russell Daylong is the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden on. Actually the first day I had it I set out on a 20 day 7400 mile trip. I'll never forget I rode 864 miles that day and felt great when I got off, the first day! I'm not particularly fond of how it looks or the stitching required to keep the cover down in the center, but it is worth it! I often call it the ugliest, most expensive and most comfortable seat I've ever seen.
Yes I sent them a seat pan from a stock seat to use. I also have the pillion seat but my wife rides her own now so we set all our bikes up to keep the luggage, (weight) as close to the center as possible.

Thanks for all the compliments and 1olbull, yes, you could make a plate lower to the fender but like I said I had to make the plate accept the design of the Russell back rest. I simply used the metal bottom from a stock rear seat and mounted the plate to it.

BTW the header is a Jardine and the rest is me to include the Cherry Bomb glass pack I slash cut!

^^^ Thanks for the information Lonzol. It's all about comfort. I've heard nothing but good things about the Russell Day Long seat. Yes I agree not cheap but either is the Corbin. I like the fact that they use the original seat pan. I'm sold, it was nice to hear from a rocket owner that has spent some time on that particular saddle. As it is now spring, after a long winter it is something that will have to wait until this fall.....gotta ride...lol

I do not understand how those who think Corbins are comfortable ride for any distance. To me they are hard as the stock Triumph seats. I need a Russell D L. should anybody have an extra. I have stuff to trade.

Interesting comparison. I tried both the stock and optional Triumph seats and found them way too soft. I've had three Corbin seats and find that the hard seat provides great support for long miles. I only weigh 180 so its not like I need extra support, I just hate soft seats.

That said, Russell seats are in a different league altogether.

At 280 I'd think a soft seat would leave you sitting on the seat pan in short order. The cheap foam used in most stock seats is generally not very supportive.
