I am just amazed that they can sell such a crap tire. This is what mine looks like after a whopping 7000 easy miles. No wonder my handling went to hell.

You guys are soooooo lucky to get those high miles out of your tyres!!!...Here in NZ we are lucky to get 8000km-9000km.....8000km is 5000 miles...just sayin...

I don’t think I’ve ever had a rear tyre on any of my motorcycles reach 7000 miles. That’s almost 10000km. I’d Be happy with that. It’s not that I’m much of a hooligan but mostly 2 up riding takes its toll.
I also think it’s road composition and our roads are not even, the irregular shape that truck traffic creates can cause tyres to wear in weird ways.

I don't think you will find many on here who have anything good to say about Metzelers. Personally, I hate them and they were removed with only 300 miles on them! Surprised you got the mileage you did...thats def not the norm.

I got 4500 miles off my OEM Metzeler.
A true POS for use on the R3R.

That’s my front tire and I regularly keep 40 psi. I have a tourer and I ride easy.
The back tire is just as bad.
I’m gonna go with Avon when I get to ordering them.

Might be you could run a bit less pressure in the front...say 36-38...the wear pattern on your photo is kinda funny looking...if it's over inflated..it will wear in the Centre more....makes sense huh...
