Hello,
All interesting replies, and I enjoy everything I read.
Here in Arizona, I must really ride spirited…...
With a road surface temp north 140degF during the summer. I run 38-psi front and rear (cold).
I replace the rears every 3000mi & the fronts every 4000mi. I monitor tire wear and tire pressures, and I have not experienced any cupping or irregular tire wear.
As soon as they start to slip under heavy throttle, I start looking for new tires. I replace tires sooner than later because I need all the help I can get.
The only time I have lowered the rear tire pressures down to 30psi (hot) was on track days at the strip.
There's no other Motorcycle that I have owned that adjusts my attitude like the Triumph Rocket 3R, and I have built some pretty quick Milwaukee V-twins.
I'll be installing the Metzler Cruisetec front and rears this month and I hope they will be as sticky as the Avons.
I believe the recommended manufacture tire pressures are for corning traction and sidewall stability.
