A highly anticipated event here has been underway a day or so. This year there were two Rocket 3s put up for bid. I am surprised at the prices they pulled in. I guess that is because of the lack of general knowledge of these bikes.



Other than that though is is most assuredly a great place to visit if you get the chance, the motorcycle eye candy is hard to beat. I wasn't able to get there this year so all of my drooling has been from afar.

I wanted one of these so bad in 1975



But being a poor sailor the best I could do was one of these.



I bought it new and made my first trip to Sturgis on it that year. I should register and bid on this one.

Is that a LT 250 or a DT 250? as its been a while......1973?
 
Following up on the two I posted. It's a good thing I didn't waste 100 dollars to register to bid because I would have been outbid on both of those.

The John Player Norton Special went for $37,400

The 850 Commando MK III with electric start and John Player tribute paint went for $11,000.

Saw on you tube, a 1973 Kawasaki Z1 900 went for $50,000.00 no kidding!
