I am picking up my 2008 R3T in Portland OR on Sunday for the 1000 mi ride back to South Orange County (Cook's Corners Territory) El Toro. I just hope the Rocket can handle well with snow chains.

I just sold an ST1300 and still ride an "08" Suzuki GSXR-1340 for fun. I love to go fast. I have been looking for a long distance hauler so I can kick back and keep my feet up. The R3T is the solution.

I will post an update on my trip from Portalnd to the OC next week. Any tips on the long ride would be greatly appreciated. I don't have time to get heated equipment so I have some footbed and glove warmers. Is there a 12v power outlet stock on the Touring version?

Anyway...I am looking forward to learning and listening from you guys here at the forum......................

Great way to break it in! I did an 800 mile ride from Dallas to Shreveport and home to San Antonio to brake mine in.. 52,000 miles later she's still runnin' strong.. :)

welcome from tn
no stock 12v power out let but no problem to add one

Congrates on your purchase. The first thing I would do is have the dealer install a throttle lock BEFORE you pick the bike up. If you were wanting a power cruiser, you picked a good one. But that is the bikes biggest down fall for a cruzer, no electronic cruz. There are some after market solutions out there but you will find them soon enough. Once you get home with the beast you will start looking into how to lease the horses from with in. Then the fun starts. Good luck with the bike and be careful on your ride to the house and welcome to the board.

Welcome! Congrats! That will be one hell of an inaugural ride! Be careful with the power it will surprise you. Also if you cant get a throttle lock than locate a crampbuster device. Thery're $10 and worth every penny. Its no joke .....the R3T has a heavy throttle. Be careful and post us some pics!
