Also, there are NO instructions on connecting the vacuum hose for the bikes with the emissions cannister. The show either a classic or roadster and it looks nothing like my touring. There are two hoses, one to the front of the bike and one to the rear. Here are the two hoses by the emissions cannister and for the rear cylinder. Hate to splice into the wrong hose...

**** getting a low memory saying it cannot post the camera photo. Will try again on the next response.

Ok, there are two hose barely visible in the back. Like I said one front and one rear.

Here is an attempt to show two hoses on the emissions cannister.

On the plug...between the two wires that you can see in your picture is a small tab. Push it towards the wires and pull the plug apart. Can't help with the vac hoses as I installed on a standard

Yea, I was trying to so it with my fingertip and it would not release. I finally got an eyeglass screwdriver and it came out.

Yes, hate to splice into the wrong hose

Guess I will have to call them late Sunday for an answer on that. I think it will be Monday there.

Friggen mosquitoes are really bad here. Do not want to spray because of the puppy.

Rick - here is the schematic of the emissions control system

Although I'm not personally intimate with the MCCruise, this would be an appropriate hose to get the vacuum

Do you have O'Reilly (formerly kragen) in you neck of the woods?

Try other auto-parts stores too

I think you mentioned in other thread, you needed 3mm x 3mm x 4mm?
That is close enough to 1/8 x 1/8 x 3/16

Thanks.

I received a photo from another member that has it installed on his R3T. He has it on pipe C between the cannister and pipe C tags. This hose goes directly into the cannister where as the other feeds through some type of check valve. Thanks as the schematic is great. Tried finding something like this in the online manual, pain in the a$$. My hard copy should be coming soon, just not soon enough. Picked up anT, 1/8 by 1/8 by 3/16 that should work from NAPA.

It has been on the rack for about a week!!! And I only have 2 to 3 hours of actual work into it due to weather, the puppy, my misunderstanding of the directions and dumb questions. And to think when I was a teenager I rebuilt the 327 with enhancements in my 67 RS Camaro and then decided to put a 396 from a wrecked SS Chevel in it.

My dream car is a 69 Z28 With the 302 in it. As soon as I win the lottery

... another member that has it installed on his R3T. He has it on pipe C between the cannister and pipe C tags.

So you see from schematic the difference is that on pipe 'C' it only comes off one cylinder, whereas on 'B' it comes off all three Tee'd together;
for my money, I would go with Pipe 'B'

Here is the responce I just received ceom McCruise.

Hi Eric,

Disconnect any one of the three pipe B’s from ONE the cylinders and plug the end of the pipe or remove the ‘T’.

Don’t use Pipe C, it won’t have any vacuum. It supplies clean air to the canister to help purge fumes from the canister.

Pipe A is the vent from the tank.

Connect the cruise control vacuum hose to the cylinder you disconnected.

That’s it.

This will still provide plenty of vacuum for the charcoal canister to purge, and ensure good vacuum for the cruise control from one cylinder.

You could just ‘T’ into pipe B but that will not provide anything like as much vacuum to the cruise as just going to one cylinder and could affect the performance of the cruise.

Best Regards,

Frank Guymer

So, now they are saying that I do not need the T. Aweful tight quarters back there. So, by the schematics it appears the rear pipe is what needs to be removed and the pipe plugged with something. And their pipe attached to cylinder 3.

You were correct!

Is there an actual plug you can get to go into that pipe (Hose)?

Seems when I was a kid we just put a bolt in it
