Liquid performance boost: Premium gas

She'll run better on the type of fuel for which she is designed, i.e., 87 octane unleaded.

My 2006 says to use 89 octane. I used 91 from day one not knowing this. So when I found out I tried it. It was OK for about a month then it just didn't run so well. I switched back to 91 and shortly afterward it was running well again.

A really good way to improve fuel delivery (which improves power output, fuel economy, and eliminates popping and the dreaded right leg heat) is to get a Dobeck Performance AFR Plus. Mine works great.

Well, TriumPhil, so far, at least, we in the US of A, are still allowed to voice our stupid unsubstantiated theory's. My point of re-cycling was that all the plastic, cans and glass has been sorted at most garbage dump stations, for years. Now they want us to do it for them, so they don't have to pay workers to do it. More $$$ in their pockets, while trying to make us feel like we are saving the world. As for my other assumptions, we'll probably both be long dead, before I get to say "I told you so"!

would there be a way to remove ethanol from the gasoline without waiting for it to settle to the bottom of a tank

I use Star Tron additive, which is an Ethanol eater. Stabil makes a similar product but from what I have read over the years, stabil is harsher on rubber parts. I add Star Tron to the bike, cars and my lawn mower and weed whacker. Mower fires right up, even after sitting for months. The stuff works.

Star Tron||Enzyme Fuel Treatment

Your first and last points are balls on accurate, hence the reasonably polite repartee', cooter2.

will try that stuff in the spring ...thanks
