It’s growing on me!

I just called A&S Powersports Roseville the local Triumph, Ducati, BMW dealer and asked about the Rocket 3 and when they would be getting one in and he said within the next few weeks. He stated that they have had endless phone calls over the last few months and people coming in looking for the bike. He stated the consensus is that it will be popular and a big seller. They will be taking appointments in a few weeks for test rides. I gotta say, I'm geeked up. I have mixed feelings about the popular part. I want it to do well but I don't want every swinging D*** out there to have one on the road because it's 'popular' either.

Well, MM, the bad news is, the fact that going by the pictures I don't understand WTH Triumph was thinking virtually guarantees it will be a sales success for Triumph.
The good news is the bike's price and the sparsity of Triumph dealers in the U.S. means it's unlikely they will ever be common.

Well this is the over populated California where there is a dealer within 70-100 miles any direction you go. Mine is 10 miles as the crow flies. Sacramento and the bay area are pretty much connected now so the chance on seeing a 'popular' bike is greater. On the other hand I have only seen 4 Rockets in 12 years of riding since I bought my first Rocket. The guy at A&S powersports was a Ducati dealer so I don't know if he was blowing smoke or not. Time will tell.

This bike will be more popular than the old models for better or worse.:)

Might be, if Triumph doesn't screw the pooch with bad output shaft bearings, clutch lifters, cam chain tensioners, and shifter shaft screws falling out, melting ignition switch solder, etc. like they saddled the original with. By the time the bugs were worked out the bloom was off the rose and the U.S. economy had tanked.

Let’s hope they learned a thing or two.

Sat on this beauty today and had it running - think I'm really liking it more now. Fantastic looking machine..

How did the fit and finish seem in person? In the videos it appears to have some nice pieces and treatments.

I still can't get past imagining how big of a mess the bike, me and the passenger would be if this bike is ridden on even damp roads. Someone else buy one and report back, please.:)
