So, while I was sleeping, BT Moto now has a gadget to read and write to the ECU of your Storm models. It doesn't modify the ECU, it is just a tool of reading and writing to the ECU. BT Moto as online service will work to decript that ECU file, modify it, encrypt back, and you'll upload it back using this gadget. Like a year a go they started a service where you'd ship them the physical ECU and then back, no one knew what will happen when you'll go to the dealer, so I thought that shipping a physical ECU was a bit too much. But this a new way, no removing of ECU and you can read and write yourself.

Here is a good experience of using it by a random person on the internet:

Evidently you can read the ECU with the gadget, send the ECU file to BT Moto to be changed, then write that received back file with the same gadget.

What is kinda skipped in the video, evidently the write to ECU can take a while and you need to attach to the battery a 12V source, as your bike's battery might be exhasted before the complete write (I guess if weak, etc), it will brick the ECU. So, not 100% safe.

The upside, if you need to take it to your dealer, you can upload the original ECU file and have a stock bike. Thus, you can turn your bike to stock and back to modified at your leisure without BT Moto online services, only using the gadget to write to ECU, once you'll be in possession of the original modified ECU file.

So, I ordered. Will arrive on Saturday, will see. So far the experience was, they shipped the same day (didn't pay for anything rushed - as a fee). I also googled coupon sites and one of the coupons went through. Final price with tax and basic shipping fee is: $821.89

PS: Those who want another video on the procedure, please view this one as well:

I've known about this for a while but it will be great to hear firsthand experience. You have a Werkes exhaust right? I'd love to know if it can do a tune to adjust to the lower backpressure of the aftermarket exhaust.
