I went to my dealers and I was talking to a sales guy and he was looking at all my stuff I made for my Rocket out of wood and a thin layer of fiberlass.
He did not beleave me that it was all out of wood
So he aske me to start it up so it was in gear so I climbed up on and put it in nutral and fired it up then I went to get off it and forgot to put the kick stand and before I could get my other leg on the ground the bike fell and my left leg went under the bike.
If it wasn't for the engine gaurd all the wieght would have been on my leg but I was able to crawl out and the sales man and me lift it up.
I was pissed thinking my side of my bike will be damaged not a mark on it the only thing that broak was my side of my spoiler where my leg went under so I picked it up and said see its wood So I guess I found out my bike would need to be on its side before the spoiler would hit Now I need to fix it, should I do some changes? or leave well enough alone?
 
..I did it on my VTX..sat on it to hold it upright to check the oil, put the dipstick back in, got back off the bike to do something else.......oops....didn't hurt the bike, twisted up my foot a little bit..I was in the driveway by myself..don't ever do it at a dealer..check out this thread..

I've only had mine a week, and backing it out the barn forgot to lift the kickstand. When the back tire dropped those few inches, the stand provided just enough leverage to tip me onto my right side, thank you very much. Old habits die hard. I pulled the side stand right off my Commando, and only use the centerstand.... but that's only a 400 lb bike. I'm also just waiting to jam down on the shift thinking I'm braking. The Norton's right hand shift one up three down.

The original fall over bars prevented any damage, even cheap as they be, but I pulled a muscle in my back getting her righted again. The weather has turned to ****e, and I'm finishing up my final semester at UMaine. A middle aged college graduate, at last, at last, and the R3 is a great big reward. That and turning 50.

baadactor, congradulations better late then never and fifty is a great age, so they say

I've posted it here before but it was funny. Once at a country store/service station, I stopped next to a gas pump, kicked the stand down too hard and unbeknownst to me, it bounced back up. As I leaned the bike over to begin the fuel purchase, the bike kept going and pinned me too the pump. It was at an angle to where I couldn't get my pinned leg out enough to lift the bike. A couple of guys changing a tire had to get me out. No damage other than pride.
 
Yes Stripes it's the pride that hurts the most even if we did do some damage to the bike I think the pride would hurt even more
 
On our trip to Niagara, it fell over at the gas pump. Have no idea how, just did. We had so much luggage straped to her that she just rolled on her side and stayed there. Bent the shifter but nothing else, went across the street to a tractor dealer and borrowed a crowbar to straighten it out.
I was so mad and full of adrenalin that it fell, I yanked it up with one pull. If I had to stop and think about it, I don't think I would have gotten it back up that easy.
My dealer thinks I'm nuts, but ever since then I hear a trans clatter in 1 and 2 gears. I think It must have nicked a tooth when the shifter was forced, maybe it's all in my head too.
 
Hellfire, you must of had a lot of luggage to tip over a 700 pound bike.
I think your kick stand was not fully ingage or if it tiped the other way you where parked on a incline, That's one thing I noticed about the Rocket when you put the kick stand down and the incline is the other way the bike would tip that almost happened to me a few times.
When I had my VTX when you put that kick stand down the bike would lean over a lot more I could park that on a down hill and the thing would be safe but you can't do that with a Rocket .

I'd leave well enough alone and just fix it.
It served its purpose right?
It looks WAY cool, and it protected the bike too.
All in all, I'd say you did good with it.

Mine went down yesterday.
Was parked on a slight decline, going down a hill,
but not too bad, so I just popped the kickstand down and got off.
DUHHH.
She rolled forward just enough to roll the kickstand up, and fell over on her side.
Broke my mirror off, scratched the tank, scuffed my Triumph tank emblem,
broke my clutch lever, you know the routine.
I was NOT happy.
But since I had jb-weld at home,
and an extra clutch lever, for just such emergencies,
all is well now.
Besides, now the tank matches the scratched up front fender.

Skip thanks for the complement, my wife thinks I should leave my spoiler alone as well thinks it suits the bike
You should see the bear claw that I'm working on it looks way cool
That's to bad about your Rocket I guess your pride was gone as well, I think this is a guy thing you don't here woman saying they do silly things like us guys do maybe they just don't want to admite it
