Been riding for 48 years now and this is my 21st scooter. Finally got something that hasn't wiped the smile off my face. Tried the Rocket III and fell in love. However, IMO the stock seat sux. Any good ideas to remedy the situation?? Found a gent that will rebuild mine with 3/8 gel and foam, but not sure thats enough. Need something to keep myself and Mama happy for long trips. Hope ya'll have a marvelous Labor day and stay safe. Happy Trails.

Welcome to the forum UncBob. My wife and I really like the Corbin but those with deeper pockets would probably tell you the Russel Day Long is the best touring seat.

Welcome Bob. You are right, the seat is brutal after only a few miles. Russell Day-Long is a highly recommended custom seat maker that several Captains have gone with. For myself, I'm going with a second highly recommended customer seat maker, Rick Mayer. Rick's father is the original designer of the Russell seat (sold the design at some point) so both share similar design characteristics. The main differences are that the Russell seat includes small springs and braces in the "wing" portions of the seat whereas the Mayer seat is made only from varying densities of foam. For my circumstances the all-foam solution sounds more durable.

Hi Unc, nice you finally found tehat permanent smile factor with the Rocket. I'm sure you have had other bikes with the same issue and there are as many solutions as seat problems. Of coarse the Iron butt society would have the ultimate fixes available but this site has been down that road with the rocket. And to be honestly subjective every butt is personal. So I , after years of studying this I can honestly say the Russell day long wins hands down and the price matches the satisfaction quotient. Welcome you old codger.:D

Welcome aboard UNC,
glad you found us and your permanent grin machine.
The rocket is one of a kind for sure.

:bch:Thanx for the warm welcome, as for the old codger remark, Hey I resemble that LOL. Flip, you aint gonna believe this but a good friend of mine lives on McCarty road also. Small world. Take care and keep the shiney side up.

I've got the Russel Day-Long with driver back rest. If I had to pick one accessory on my bike and get rid of all the rest, I would keep the seat. $850 for vinyl with driver back rest.
