HI guys, I'm a newbie from UK, I'm looking at buying the rocket 3 roadster, COuple of questions, what is the 0-60mph? What is the average mpg? Also what is athe average insurance and maintenance?
I currently own a yamaha fazer and its going to be a huge upgrade for me. I was looking at HD but then eventually decided for R3. One of my mates has R3 and i fell in lvoe with it once I saw it. Cheers for your help.

0-60 in just over 3 secs
I get mid 30s mpg
Insurance is only a little more than my previous tiger.
Service intervals is 12 months or 10k miles (I think). Cost has been about the same as other 1000cc bikes. Need to replace the rear tyre 4-6k miles.
Considering what you get out of it....it's a bargain!

Welcome to the site.
0-60? faster than a harley. way faster.
insurance? Mpg? Who cares.
Worth every cent and pays for itself in
Smiles per hour.

Hi Chet.

It's going to be more expensive to run than a Fazer, that's for sure.

Insurance depends on age & experience, but mpg is governed by the right wrist. I can get nearly 200 miles out of a tankful, or as little as 120 if I'm in hooligan mode.

Rear tyre will need replacing in 3 to 3500 in the UK at about £170 a pop (don't listen to the Yanks with their stories of ultra high tyre mileage - they must all ride like pussies

It's not just the 0 - 60's that are fun on this beast. 60 - 100+ is just a flick of the wrist.

Go for it & enjoy.

Welcome Chetalien, cant give you much info on the new Roadster yet as none of us have ridden it, consider buying one of the current bikes on offer at the moment like I just did and save £2k under the Roadster.
Then fitted rearsets and two pipe exhaust system, err that will take care of the £2k saving, or wait for the Roadster!
Get a test ride on the current model, the Roadster will be a bit faster, sit on the bike with your feet on the back end of the footrest rails, this is about where the new pegs will be, the Roadster seat is a bit higher not so good for us shorties but that can be changed, I pay about £100 for insurance and can get 200mls on a tank.

Naw, we ain't all riding like *****s, we just wised up and switched to the darkside

Hooligan mode is just what Owl states and well 0-60 is hard to pay attention to as not many stop at 60!!!! Unless their in a, I am a old driver mode. I worry more about the 0 to 100 as its close to shifting into third gear at 100. As for tire wear well Owl again was correct as it does reflect upon the wrist twisting. I personally do not worry about tire mileage as it verry way to much. I just change them as needed
I'm on my 8th rear so the average for me would be about 5k a rear and 10 k for the front unless I don't want to trust the front in which I change it when I do the rear. I do find that if you decrease the amount of 70 mph burn outs they do last longer

this bike isn't about being practical..... practical is a Toyota Corolla ( and it has about the same size engine)

the gas mileage is 27-32 for me ( with Jardines )

insurance is different in the states so that wouldn't help you much, but it's not much more than my old Sprint 1050 was

0-60 is just something you do so you can shift in to 4th and do 60-100

G'DAY GUYS.
I like the gday since being in oz for a year. Thanks for the help. I have to go and try the classic and roadster and then decide. i'm fairly new to bikes, have ridden for a while but nothing performance orientated. Yes i know its gonna be a lot more different than the fazer but i'm hoping it wont be too bad. I just wanted a general idea. I've 1yr NCB and got abotu £375 for a years's insurance. Almost similar to my z4M with 6NCB but hey i love the bike and dont think either the insurance or the mpg is going to stop me. Just go to convince the other half. But I'm sure i want it. saw a few deals on the classic. in 2 weeks i will dropping by a dealer to test it see if he has the roaster too so i can see what suits me best. I am much more of sports bike guy but due to my back thats a NO-NO.
I was looking at harleys but once i saw my mates classic i love the bad boy looks. Cant wait to get my hands on them. I am hoping to get more help and advice from you guys in the near future.
