Hello from Hastings.

Be very careful .. there's another Pom on here that's as mad as a two bob watch .. cab driver from London , watch out for him :sneaky: ... oh .. Welcome to the Forum

Welcome Richard From another of the Aussies on the Forum, are you from Hastings where the Battle and that 1066 stuff happened ,in the 'old' days us Ozzie kids were taught more about the History of England than our own countries past ,

True  don't know how they implanted that 1066 into our memory banks .. but they did...evil if you ask me.

Evil all right we learned it parrot fashion , the Magna Carta was signed in 1066 at Runnymead ,Wow that really was of great use to me for the last 60 years but it is still stuck in my brain forever:eek:, we learned the times table in the same fashion at least that was useful,

Actually Billy the Conqueror dropped over in 1066, the Magana Carta didn't happen till 1215 - and there is an original copy at the Parliament House in Canberra. At least there was last time I was there.

But g'day and welcome to the OP.

Welcome to the site from New Jersey, Richard, not too far from the lovely village of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

Hi Richard and welcome from Essex (Easte Saxe) Land of the East Saxons. There are many of us who view William the B'stards invasion with disdain.

Isn't nearly a millennium a bit long to carry a grudge, Steve? Let it go, Man! Let it go!
