Hello all, Navy Vet/pilot riding from Bucks County

Hi folks, just bought an 06 R3, blue tribal painted, 5500 miles and I love riding it. I used to race MX in District 6 up here in NJ/east PA/NY, so this bike puts a smile on my face like no Harley ever could. I fly for a major airline, get away on the R3 now for adventure/peace of mind. I can see I'll be going through tires a little faster than typical cruisers.
I'm working on getting my fuel refill light to come on when it should, saw a great post that explains it all, nicely written. Meanwhile I've bee just hitting the reset button on the trip meter to know when to get gas, a system which is working fine, but I suppose I'll have to take the tank apart some time and fix the light calibration. Does anyone know if the dealer does this cheap/recalls out there on '06 R3's that would cover it?

Welcome Bruce, old Navy? I lived in Bucks County for a while, Ivyland in fact while I was stationed at NADC Warminster as a P3 Flight Engineer, something a lot of modern planes do without. Which is why I don't fly for a living.

BTW, I wouldn't bother with the fuel light mod for now... I think you will find that there are bigger, more useful and productive fish to be fried as you and your Blue Beast become one!
