Thinking about getting the Nitron NTR R3 race pro shock for my bike. From what I understand it should be stiffer which is what I need. Im a big guy (420 lbs) so when riding 2 up the current shock is definitely struggling. Anyone know if this is a decent shock and if it would actually be stiffer than the current shock? I really dont wanna blow $1400 if its going to be the same.

They should be able to fit the correct spring for your max load. The shock internals are the same regardless of the spring, with your total load 2 up the spring has to be very heavy so that the static sag is correct. Contact Nitron and ask what spring you need for your shock. You can also check with other makers like Ohlins, Wilbers, and Hagon and see what they recommend.

Thanks for the sugestion on the other brands. Ill definitely be making some calls before I purchase.

You should try this brand, they are able to make you a shock absorber perfectly adapted to your morphology at the same level of quality as Öhlins:

I've been thinking of a shock upgrade myself. Do you have this shock on your bike? Or do you know someone that has one on a Rocket?. Edit: Found this on a HD install.

Unfortunately I still have no feedback on these suspensions mounted on a Rocket 3... They will definitely be my next shock absorbers as soon as my banker allows me to order them (!) with the Andreani fork stanchions/cartridges because there is no point in having good shock absorbers with a non-upgraded fork... On the other hand, absolutely everyone I know who has mounted them is very very satisfied (you just have to be able to adjust them correctly thanks to the guide supplied with them). On Ducati Panigale Superbike type they are fantastic, that's all I can tell you!

Thanks, I might give them a try.
