headlight question

Have any of you changed your bulbs to the "Ultra White" bulbs. What do you think? I did yesterday and I notice a slight improvement over the stock dingy yellow bulbs. Just want to see what others thought.

Anybody know if a burnt out headlamp will prevent the Rocket from running? I have heard if you have a headlight out there is an interlock that will shut the bike off. True?

Finally, what is that little marker light in the headlamp bucket for?

Just tapping the vast knowledge of this site...
Thanks....Mitch

mitch,

I have installed blue bulbs and didn't think it was worth the money for that vehicule.
These bulbs don't always work that well, my wife's Volvo it made it worse, my Lincoln LS and my wife's old GrandAm helped a LOT but on the Rocket I didn't notice a change at all.

One thing I have noticed is that the lighting is even more "spotty" and I'll have to lower the alignment as it shoots the light slightly upwards compared to standard lamps.
IMO If you see better, changes are that you needed to align the headlamps up a little and the new bulbs did it for you.

The fogs are overpriced but for lightning it makes an incredible difference. I aligned mine so it fills the weak spot on the road.

As for your question about the marker lights, that's what they are. Ever noticed that your front signal lamps are not marker lights?

I only wish they would have used the front signal lights for marker, then the shape of the headlamp bowl would be better and we could see something at night. I couldn't believe that 110watts (2x55) worth of lighting didn't light the road better than my Vulcan's single 45watt.

Sully you dirty law breaker
Both bulbs have to blow as ignition runs through both
So your living on the edge with one gone already
