I am picking up my 2009 R3T in 2 weeks. Traded in a 2000 Intruder vl1500lc that I was not unhappy with just needed to get back to my roots. Rode a 750 Bonny in the 70's and have always missed her.

In 2005 I had a red VTX1300 anyhoo the wife and kids went back to Los Angeles to visit her parents and while they were away I bought my Rocket(red of course)
Kept my mouth shut, the family arrived home wife and son walked right passed the rocket without even batting an eyelid, up the driveway comes my daughter shouting daddys got a new bike. Yes I was in the dog house for a few weeks

Got my 2008 R3T in July '08 and sold my second 2003 LC. Loved that bike, but haven't looked back since!
Headed to Leaky Tx. on Thur. (Hill Country Salvo). First long trip since the LC and looking forward to it.

Ive '96, 1400VS Intruder waiting for more of my attention. I dumped it nearly 8 years ago and didnt get back up to ride til the R3 beast spirited me forward. Theres no comparison of course, though I was known to rake the pegs on the Intruder far more often than nowadays; which was the cause for my having dumped the Intruder back then. Seven broke ribs, fractured hand and forearm, and punctured lung; not to mention a skid lid ground down to the hair. Even a novelty helmet is a life-saver, IMHO. Needless to say I got slammed. The Intruder has run rather recently but the carbs require balancing/tuning; and the dents need pulling out
