I second that Daryl and I'll be testing my 1700 T-bird light to light on Wednesday to make sure it is nothing to be ashamed of (after coming off of the Rocket...may be just a tad slower).

It's an 800lb dump truck ... with a rocket motor. It takes ass to throw it around, like I said on another thread ... you should be near or over 6ft and 200lbs to throw the bike around. It's just a big, heavy bike.
If you're ok with it pulling you around, then fine ... but you should be at least 1/4 of it's weight to make it perform outside a straight line.
 
We think the Beast handles well for a big bike, but we have not ridden a T and so have no basis for that comparison. Our last ride was an F-6 Valkyrie; and the Beast seems almost nimble compared to the Valk (though admittedly less comfortable). For us, the Beast responds well to counter steering. We do not find it difficult to ride.

We trudge on.
 
It's more a question of confidence and getting used to it. Nothing is quite like a Rocket so if you hop on and ride it the same as any other bike it feels big and awkward. Ride it often (every day if you can) and you very quickly get to the point where it's just as easy as any other bike. You just need to understand the inputs it needs and be prepared to put them in, positively and deliberately. Sure I struggled a bit initially - for several months actually - but I doubt there's been more than a dozen days in 10 months I haven't ridden and I can tell you it feels light as a feather to me these days.
