Greetings from Sin City...

I agree with cardinal93! Welcome from Germany by way of Colorado. I'm active US military as well. The best roads I've ever rode have been in this country! Enjoy your Rocket; nothing else like her.

We're a 1 car household too. I rarely need a car and ride every day - although the temperature's hitting sub-zero a bit these days. For a while there we had the Rocket and an America but the wife's not riding at the moment (but hoping to get her back in the saddle soon enough). Welcome aboard. No point telling you're going to love the Rocket. Like the way you worked up to it too!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and service sentiments. I've always felt it takes everyone doing their part... I feel very thankful that there were many there for my family when I've been deployed or on temporary duty... most everyone serves in their own way. We've been following the Air Force dream for over 27 years now... and I'm thankful my 'Real Boss' is letting me continue for at least 5 more. Currently we are traveling as we visit our grandsons in Nebraska and Wisconsin... next time Grandpa needs to show up on his bike! :)

Mitzy; I'm actually working downtown in support of the Nevada test and training range, but I do get by the hospital now and then.

Now as for that Germany assignment recommendation... Hmmm... :)

Michael: Welcome to the Forum from Sunny South Florida! When you're downtown, make sure to stop into the Golden Nugget and say "Hi" to my son, Aaron, who is a manager at the sports book there!

Hello Michael and welcome from VA. While it is not the ideal place to ride to work, I do it year round here from Fredericksburg to DC. This was our fourth largest snowfall in recorded time they tell me, but I only missed about 6 days due to snow and ice this winter. On second thought, it sounds like they would put you in the Puzzel Palace and I wouldn't wish that on anyone; try Germany after all. Spanghalem and Ramstien have great food and drink... And like our brothers said, the riding is great there.

Got it! ...and I will :)

It's good to hear about the DC riding and I could use the HOV lanes. Ummm.. yea... I've yet to do a Puzzle Palace tour, but there are also options at the White House or a few other select locations in the area... time will tell.
