I have joined this group to tap into its vast knowledge. I am about to embark on removing my air box. I work with a limited budget so I got a chance to pick up most (4 of 5) of the filters needed cheap so I jumped on them. the missing filter is for the crankcase breather. I was recommended K&N 62-1015 2" size. if you have a better suggestion I would be most appreciative. The filter for the intake sensor came with a sensor in it and is probably in good shape. I would like any information about relocation of that sensor and just any suggestions of clamps ect. and where to get them to hopefully make this project go as smooth as it can. I look forward to your advice and hopefully lots of pictures. See ya.

I have watched this very good reference especially liked taking the beer break. Unfortunately I i don't have everything in that kit and will have to improvise some clamps ect. having a real hard time getting someone to tell me the size of filter for the crankcase vent. Its a very tight fit.

If you fit the filter with zip ties as opposed to clips there is much less chance of damaging the rubbers . Works perfectly well !

I have a Ramair kit that has not been installed. Looking form someone that has done it to help me. My tank lifting is tricky because my bike has risers and they block the lift. I have read that some people just leave the air temp sensor hanging below the tank without problems. Don't now what they do with the connection that goes to the throttle body. I'm sure some one in the group will voice more help for you.

My 2005 has had the risers on for 12 years and no problem lifting the in fact I posted a video a while ago with me lifting the tank.

Same here, Rick, and we have the same year R3.

When you pull the through-pin that retains the rear of the tank, you can skootch the whole tank rearward a bit and then it should clear the risers.

Mine has the risers. No need to undo the rear bolt. The front hold down tab is mounted on a rubber, when it contacts the bar clamp just push down on the tab while pulling up on the tank & it will pop past. Do same going back down
