Good Bye Mr. Sport Bike

Coming home from work Monday I noticed two head lights closing some distance rather fast. I was running 70mph. I down shifted to 4th gear, and as the first bike slowed down and pulled along side me he look at me as I looked at him and I opened up 147 foot lbs of torque and 138hp on him and I didn't slow down till 130mph-ish. He faded away till I let off the throttle. I slowed down to 80mph as he blasted past me. He's probably still trying to figure out what happened. Yea I know, I'm going to go to jail one day.

Gotta agree. If liter bikes or better and they realized it was a race they would have been backing off at 160+ wondering where you went.

We don't win the horsepower to weight ratio with those things. Not to mention aero and gear ratios at mega speeds. Your torque will let you hang with them until they build some revs, then its nothing but tail lights.

I'll race anybody as long as they're in the lazy boy riding position. Monkey fu****g a football, I'll pass.

That would be me. LB riding position. My biking is running much nicer in the cooler weather. We were in Scottsdale two weekends ago - dust storm.

Yeah, we always get some strange weather when the seasons change (hot to less hot). That dust storm was a bit late in the year, but with no rain for months it doesn't take much to stir it up. We're settling into our typical brutal winter weather now, mid 70's and sunny.

I hit a couple of dealers today thinking about trading for something new. By the time I got to the first one I realized I'd be hard pressed to find anything better, so it just turned into some window shopping. Still fun though, not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper.

Agree, my K1200R has 5 more HP a lot less torque and weighs about 300lbs less and will smoke my R3 but not in top gear. I was gone before he could down shift three gears.

I'm not crazy about the R3 riding position. I'm thinking about really screwing it up with some rearsets and a low handle bar.

And that's why I just got my Kawasali ZZR1400(ZX14). Between that & the Rocket I reckon I cover most of the boxes, the rocket is & always will be the dog's do dah's though.One is so cool & the other such fun.

I have my rocket for cruising around my honda blackbird for going fast, also my honda dn1 for going REALLY slow

Not all riding is on tar or gravel for that matter
