GI Pro



Wouldn't be the first time my recollection was wrong!
I have no doubt I followed the instructions (and I think earlier posts from you) so apologies Kmutt if I've given the wrong steer.
Now I'm going to have to go outside and check!!!
 


No P0705 fault code. GPS is good the GIpro has a malfunction.

Yes, some people on here are scary.
 
The instructions state that the Gi Pro has a flash memory to store user settings even with the battery disconnected.

However, even if this were not the case and the Gi Pro did reset to default mode - would it not just be a question of pushing the little button twice to put it back on setting 3?
 
It has a flash memory that stores user settings for gear position calibration, if you read the very next line in the instructions it states that after a power interruption it reverts back to NORMAL operation. Meaning that it goes back to stock ATRE setting which is 7% reduction in power. I've disconnected it before, it goes back to (*) which is normal operation. Yes, after a power interruption you can set it back to 3 or whatever you like by pushing the little button three times. Do you want to do that every time you start the bike?

I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm telling you facts. But do what you want.
 
You had me worried HellFire so I took your advice and checked the installation instructions for Triumph Rocket lll (2004-2010) that came with my GIpro T01.

Step 10: "Connect the long Black GIpro wire to chassis ground or to the negative terminal of the battery (tighten underneath the metal screw)."

Step 15: "Connect the GIpro Red wire to a switched +12V wire, e.g. at the fuse box. Use the Red wire tap connector supplied (do not strip wires when using this connector).

If you can't find a switched power, connect the Red wire directly to the battery positive terminal (however, in this case, disconnect the wire if you don't intend to ride the bike for over 3 weeks, otherwise the battery may lose charge)."

That's what I did and as far as I can tell it's working perfectly and hasn't needed resetting even after disconnecting the battery (twice).
 
You must have some new version, it clearly states in my instructions to route it directly to the battery. And when mine is disconnected, it goes back to normal mode just like the instructions state.

I wired mine up with to switched +12V wire and it works fine.In my instructions this is the way it is wired up.However if it goes back to default setting can you tell when you switch the bike on.

Quite probably; I got mine in last 6 months. I guess the point really is to follow the instructions.
 
Mine is the same as yours mate but ive solderd my red into the fuse box and got the black to the battery .
 
LOL!!!! You guys are too funny!!! Thanks for the replies! I do not have the instructions in front of me as of this writing but I am waiting for my PC8 from Eastern Beaver and then I will finish the install AFTER reading the instructions!!!
Interestingly enough I bought my GiPro during the group buy some time last year. I'm now just getting around to install it!!!
