Exhaust expansion and contraction noises

It seems that this exhaust is pinging and popping allot more all of a sudden. And rattling too, nothing is loose. Anybody getting that too?

Its always pinged as it cooled for me. Take the cover off and make sure where its attached to the header is still tight. Check all the mounting bolts. Thats really all that could come loose.

Rubber grommets/dampeners keeping the shields degrade fast and cut often, rattling even if all bolts are tight. Tried Kawasaki ones, same result. Tried to reinforce them, sometimes it works. Sometimes the tab does not fit inside the grommet's slit when you slide the shield back on. That may be solved with a V-shaped copper strip to catch the lug.
That's just a possible cause, you may find new and interesting things . Nevertheless that's the fun with this motorcycle. SO many things to fix, you want to remanufacture it.
