Hello everybody,

for now I have the original Metz 240 with 10.500 km. on it, still good for another 2000 km.
Want to change my back tire and putting a Bridge Exedra Max on it !!
as I read everywhere that it is a fantastic tire with lots of more km. you can get out of it compared to the Metz.
I did read all I could about this changing of the tire, also that it has one inch more diameter ( 2 cm. in total ) than the Metz, but I saw nothing yet about the influence this could have on ABS ...... because more diameter does it not affect the ABS calculations ??
in which way could this be a problem or not ?

Thanks a lot for info !

rocketgreetings !

I have had the max on for a couple of months, no problems with the ABS, size dif is only about 10 ml or so (1/2 inch), tyre makes a BIG differance in how the bike handles (my opinion) and seems to be a lot more sure footed

Did you have the Exedra Max new model or the old one without the center line carving ?
So you mean that the bike is much better handling, is it right ? Seems all the people having that tire are very happy with it !!

the Max will raise the bike's rear geometry 0.47" and it actually corrects the speedometer's imprecise factory calibration, a deviation of about 7%, I believe, at least on older model R3s. The trouble caused by different tire sizes on R3s with ABS is caused by putting smaller than stock section width tires up front.

Surely others with more direct experience will come along and confirm or correct this, however the problems definitely occur with a 130 tire in front, I'm not certain about that with a 140 tire.

Also, make certain that you are not confusing the Exedra (usually a 'G' series tire) for the Exedra Max or a bias ply tire for a radial as I am unaware of this "new" Exedra Max model to which you refer. I believe that there has only been the one EM since it was introduced about two years ago.

Thats what I was thinking, Yes George the bike seems to handle better (my opinion)

The EM is a better mc tire all the way around, in my experience, except that for when it gets down to about its last 15% of useful tread life. It is a longer mileage, slightly harder compound tire than the Metz so when the tread gets low its a little bit more skittish than the Metzeler, especially in cooler weather, but the difference is hardly noticeable to most "normal" riders. I'm pretty aggressive, so it will tend to skip around a bit upon both hard braking and acceleration thru tight turns and twisties.

Well it is a bit confusing I find because the rocketeers are very happy with the Exedra Max but which one ??? when you put that in Google you get 2 kinds of tires :
as I understand, the old one since years is the one on the right side ( must be the G-852 ) : link does not work any longer ????

the new one should be the one on the left side of the above link, or as here :

as I said, I find it a bit confusing. :pullhairout:

Try this link http://www.bridgestone.com/products/motorcycle_tires/products/exedra/max.html
I run the Radial tyre (the one without the centre line carving
Radial tyres are OEM for the R3
Besides the Max dosnt come out in a 240 bias tyre for the rear

hey Mike188 ...... me a bit confused now .... I saw this also : ???
