Native, you CAN let the bike sit on the sidestand and let it idle. Just put her in neutral.

All modern bikes have the sidestand switch these days.

And yes, GR3Y, there is a tilt switch. It normally resets automatically once the bike is back up again so no fiddling is needed.

Mine must be screwed up then. I put it in neutral, still dies with the kickstand down. :x :shock:

That is screwy, Native. Might have a faulty neutral switch. Does the green neutral gear light go on with you're in neutral?

Yes it comes on. I think the kill switch is probably faulty, either that or hooked up improperly. It's done this ever since I bought the bike. First chance I get I'll take it in.

This was a problem from waaay back. I think Slarti himself had it. A simple adjustment to the neutral switch was the cure.

Corrupted tune and/or bad battery or wiring connections could be causing it. If you have intermittent power to the ECU that can corrupt your tune or make it go nutty.

First thing I'd check are the battery terminals. Take them off, clean them up or corrosion and scuff for better connections and then secure tightly.

Check all your fuses and wire connectors, under tank and under side covers as well. While you're doing that, put some dielectric grease on the connectors to prevent corrosion and problems with water intrusion.

If you have Tuneboy, I would reload your tune to make sure it is not corrupted. If you can't do that, then your dealer will have to do this if you end up taking her in. Some people have even had their ECU's go bad.

Hopefully it is just your battery connections. Wiring or bad sensors are a pain to figure out. Your dealer will have to sort that stuff out.
