I had a weird thing happen to me while riding in Arkansas last year. When I activated the hill hold it wouldn't release, no matter how much power I applied. The rear wheel remained locked solid even at 4K RPM and the clutch being let out slowly the rear wheel remained locked tight as drum and stalled the engine. On restart the hill hold was no longer active. I didn't pursue it at the time, but last week tried the hill hold again and same deal, it will not release once activated. Thoughts?

i would disconnect battery for a day , let ECU reset and go from there first

Did you try the brake to release it? I only use the hand brake to release hill hold on my bike.

It sounds like the ABS module that creates the hold pressure is not releasing when given the signal, turn the bike off & it shuts everything down, hence the hold is gone. I'd be doing a diagnostic scan on the brake system & abs module & see if you come up with anything.

good luck with it.

I have seen this issue brought up by other people. See if bleeding your rear break fixes it. Other than that I don't remember what the others have said the problem was.
