Crankcase dummy...

Hi,
I am in the process of installing triple foam filters, Jardine exhaust, and Tuneboy. I have realized that I am lacking a crankcase filter and i want to know if I really need it? Why can't I lust leave the stock air box connected to the hose the way it already was?
 
I tried running it that way and found that after a hard run up the mtn that oil fumes had condensed in the aibox and coated everything in a smear of oil.... I was not happy to throw away a spare set of gloves and wet weather pants that where ruined, save yourself the grief on the of chance of it happening and install the breather filter from Flipmiesters K&N and Emgo Filters | Flipmeisters Specialty Products

Ok, here I go again...

I am aware of the storage gain under the seat... maybe I could eventually put an alarm system there, or a second battery, or an amplifier if I can get a real life one day.. But I have a 2008 R3T with a sissy bar and getting that seat off is not so simple.
I have to undo an arrogant phillips screw that is tucked almost under the back of the seat, and then Allen nuts on the underside of the left/right sides. Considering i have side bags (i just hate the French word Pannier...same as saddle bags... slung over beasts of burden, etc..) and may one day get a trunk... i think removing the seat is something I want to avoid...i guess...um...i think?
 
Yet another reason to not go the touring route !!!!

At first your reply put me off a bit... I am ok now
One day i was riding a wheelie on my 600 Ninja through a busy intersection here in China. I remember thinking about my upcoming 50th birthday... umm... i mean if i live to see it.. So I sold the Ninja. I just cannot ride it in any type of soft way.
So, i knew that I needed to touring bike no matter what and I first decided on the Goldwing, but then i read too many sofa jokes, and decided to get a GTR1400... I think one day I might still do that...Seriously.. that bike is for real!! Anyway, i didn't get it because I know I would do the same as the the Ninja again. Next I looked new BMW K1600 GT... and then I just stumbled upon the Rocket.
The idea is that i would tame myself with a touring bike with saddle bags, etc..
I can't explain my Tuneboy and Jardines...and filters.. one baffle...?
 

Dude I was refering to how hard it is to remove a simple seat. I did not mean to put you off. It seems stupid to not have made the design like to standard rockets. That could be a good area to store tools or something. But even without that its a pain to get at the battery even if you need a jump start.
I would think a little more forethought is needed thats all.
