Coolant temperature sensor.

Mine started to puke coolant out the the overflow tube ahead of the rear wheel when I parked it. Just a bad rad cap. I ordered the OEM part, but the caps sold by Moose Racing for quads fits too. I stole the cap off my LTZ for a week. I had the red 23psi model and the Rocket's stocker is 16psi. Sure ran cool that week. I don't know if the R3 system could handle 23psi for the long haul.

Right by the thermostat housing int he front left of the motor like you suspected. As you look at the thermostat housing it is at about the 6 O'clock position. I am not sure why your boiling over but maybe you just changed the coolant and need to bleed the air out of the block. There is a bleeder bolt at about 12 O'clock on top of the thermostat housing. If the Head casting is good. if not like my 06 there is a pretty bolt holding/plugging nothing on my Head :)
I think I can see where it is but there's a big hose in front that I cant move. Anyway. .Tried to get the rad cap tested at a rad shop but won't fit their equipment. The dude did the squeeze test an reckons ok. :-D Just done the 12min tune and fans kicking in just as needed now. No overflow ... sweet. Maybe I didn't fully seat the cap when I changed coolant and it wasn't building up enough pressure to give the fans an opportunity to fire ? Maybe I moved a dodgy sender wire. Who knows. Thanks for your input mate.

if u had air around the temp sensor it would not read right. it might get hot and push out the coolant.
did u bleed the air like warp said.

BTW - G'day @Andy I don't recall seeing your introduction!
Welcome from Brisbane.
Good idea to do an introduction (in the introduce yourself section) so others can say G'day too.
Most of us are friendly and don't bite.
Were in OZ are you from?
