i have an 08 R3, and i'm the typical un politically correct smoker, and am trying to figure out a good place to mount a cigarette lighter. any ideas?

Left hand infill panel where the Triumph accessory outlet went is what I did and put in one from a boat for water proffing.

Yeah, I just used a PepBoys socket kit in the left plastic panel where the blank hole already was. I found a neat skull lighter to plug into it and use it all the time.

thanks guys. i may go that route with the left side mounted lighter. i'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous and if so, i could light a smoke on a windy day going 70, but such ain't the case. i gotta pull off the road, stop, get out a smoke, my lighter from the pocket. hell, at that rate i might as well quit smoking. i don't see that one happening. thanks again for the replies, and likely the place to mount the lighter.

While at Maggie valley, I think it was "scot in exile" I noticed had one mounted on top of the radiator chrome piece on the right side...Might be more convienient place instead of reaching behind you.

Kuryakin have a bullet shaped one that mounts on the bars...

Yep, got one of those, put it right next to the tach. One thing to consider, and the reason I went with this one instead of the side mount, it's real convenient to charge the phone, I plug it in and set it in the windshield bag (also convenient for a bar mount GPS if you've got one).

I mounted mine on the windsheld, just loosen one of the windshield nuts and fasten it on the left hand side, very handy and within reach,:):)
