2014 Victory Vision Tour
Lady rider killed in Laurens County SC two days ago. Collided with a special needs school bus. Not wearing a helmet. Collision at 8AM.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

What's going on with you Clint .. thought you said your farewells to us all 'again' just the other day. "you've had more starts than Pharlap" as we say in Australia.

Kidz were all fine. Bus driver sent for drug/alcohol test. When its early in any riding season WE have to ride defensively and assume that the cages don't see us. I pray for her soul and family and the driver too because this is an event that will never leave their lives. Sad to have that on your mind everytime you see a motorcycle. Just be careful y'all.

fyi, it appears that the bus turned left in front of the lady. grrrrr....

I have a hard time with the way that the facts are being presented. It says that the motorcycle collided with the bus as the bus was turning left. This gives the impression that the m/c rider was at fault. The reality, and the way it should be truthfully presented, it that the bus failed to yield the right-of-way and turned left in front of the motorcycle.

I always ride as if I am invisible. I assume no one can see me. But that didn't work for me ~3 weeks ago. (Already posted earlier but here it is agin.) I was riding to the left of a cage (I have loud pipes, mind you) on a two lane street with the car on the right. I was about even with the left rear door/fender running about 25mph. The driver decides to do do a bat turn to the left to try to enter a commercial drive way. We bred. I demolished the whole left side of his car including a long gash from my foot peg in the driver's door. Luckily I wasn't hurt and everything damaged on the Roadster was re-bolt-able. Just got it home. I took this opportunity to put on one of my new radiator covers. Will post pics in a more appropriate thread.

Sorry to hear about your wreck Ken. I hope you are ok. And yes your pipes can be heard from a distance, that's how I found you in Gulfport. I heard your bike before I saw you.

Just be safe. Wear your gear. Protect yourself. Remain vigilent.

I place no blame. I will let The Lord determine that.
