well I managed to bugger my battery left bike switched on after arriving home heard wife screaming was big palmetto bug but ran into house and forgot bike was switched on.
Put battery on tender next day ,tried day after lights but not enough power to start, connected bike to home depot smart charger for slow charge took dogs to park came back battery smoking .Have taken battery to college and tried with charger there cannot get it above 10.2 volts
Will buy another one and piggy back it had intended doing that but was starting bike fine anyone know if any kind of warranty on these batterys.

Ballistic has a 3 year warranty but they will not honor it if you let the voltage drop below the point through neglect. A Lithium battery (their battery according to their literature) is considered dead if the standing voltage drops to 6 volts I believe, and if you actually "smoked" that battery you attempted to charge it improperly; they will examine it and probably deny you a warranted replacement.

Teach the wife how to kill a Palmetto on her own so you can take care of your bike properly ;)

(edited above to change 8 volts to 6 volts in bold text)

Lithium batteries WILL NOT CHARGE properly on normal (esp trickle) chargers. Coonect it in parrallel to the battery on your car whilst running.

Ballistic states that you can only charge the 16 cell Lithium EVO at:

1.) When charging a Ballistic Performance Components Battery with a traditional automotive or motorcycle based external charging device, the following input specifications are recommended:

Standard Charge: 2A @ 13.2-14.4V for approximately 45 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4V.
Maximum Charge Rate for Standard Automotive or Motorcycle based Charger: 16 Cell EVO 2 (100-013) – 20A @ 13.2-14.4V for 20 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4V.

Even after it has been smoking?
Especially. I like flames.

There is one "trick" I've read about for reanimating lithium batteries - Connect a MIG/TIG across it for VERY short burst. Never tried it but I throw it out as an option.

From the same thread: "Do not try this with lithium batteries as previously mentioned, they can and will go boom."

Tempting as it may be, please don't mix batteries and arc welders.
