Hi All. From the beautiful Sth Coast of NSW, a riders haven. Wifey has given me the go ahead to fulfill my mid life crisis and up to now I've been torn between a TBird and a Rocket. It WILL be a Triump regardless. No HD for me...
Test rode a Storm last year and quite enjoyed it but there's something about the Rocket that has me very interested. Right now doing the due diligence and looking forward to riding one soon.
Will refer back here as I start to narrow down my bikes. Any feedback welcome. Cheers...FSB.

Welcome from Germany! With most things, the shopping and anticipation are the exciting parts. With the rocket that excitement doesn't really go away afterward ;) good luck on your search/decision!

Welcome mate, Don't ask your wife which one to get - cos I recon she wont say Rocket.
BTW its easier asking for forgiveness than it is for permission...
Just get the R3 you know you want to. Test drive one and take your cheque book along - Wifey will notice a silly grin on your face......

T bird is a very nice looking bike! Make sure you test ride both and then make your decision. If your heart is set on the T bird DO NOT TEST RIDE THE ROCKET. The rockets torque will make you grin like a fool everytime you ride it!! Good luck with your quest!

Yeah the gals like the look of the bird. The R3 is a unique looking bike and I think it stands out from the rest. My mate rides a Dyna HD and he says hell be quietly jealous if I go the R3.
The biggest turnoff for me with the bird is the loaction of the gauges. Wearing a FF helmet, had to look down with eyes off the road to get speedo reading. Tacho needle is small. Like the R3 gauges.
Tell me, what is too many kms? What should I look out for when viewing R3's?

Thanks. Heart is not set on the bird. I reckon my mind will be made up once I ride a R3.

I only know about the touring model and yes you would have the same problem looking at the gauges on the touring model. I wear a full face and or a 3/4 helmet and the 3/4 is much better viewing the gauges. Their is no utopia.

gday mate and welcome to the site.

BOth bikes are great but I do know many people that have ridden both all say they prefer the space and comfort of the R3. Also, the rocket does give you that giddy grin everytime you take her for a spin. If you are considering a lot of 2 up riding the touring is a great bike and compares well with the tbird.

One thing to point out, several people I know have sold the Tbird after a while as they werent 100% convinced it was for them. SOme upgraded to a rocket others went a dressed HD.

As far as k's go, if it is stock i dont think it matters. If it is tweeked or worked, check who did the work and you'll know what you are getting.

I know there is a rippa r3 in canberra up for grabs speak to @CanberraR3 , it is his personal bike. Alternately he'll get you a deal on a tbird if thats the path you chose.

Good luck and let us know if there is anything we can answer for you.
