Hope you enjoy the ride and the forum. You should get together with Flip and Rusty as they both are very adept at fabrication. Might even have Tomo set up a tech group like he does with riding groups. Just a thought!
No matter how you set up your RIII it is definitely a great cruiser and tourer. We like to joke around here that it shrinks time and distance (until you get a flat Metzler, that is), but hey... that can happen to any bike!
Thanks for the warm welcome all. I've been cruising through the site amd am impressed by the collective knowledge of the members. Like I said, I only have my Speedmaster for now, but I am definitely looking at the R3 as an addition to the garage. My fiancee' is enrolled in the MSF course this weekend and is eyeballing the Speedy for her own. She currently has a Honda CM200T, but I'm certain that bike won't hold her interest for long.
That it does, however, they look a little small. Maybe not a spacious as the Beetlebags? I've always liked the look/size of the Beetles if not the price.
